How did this corporate junkie end up teaching teams how to be more resilient?


In various stages of my career I relished the highs when things were going well but when work was bad I took it home with me and raged.


When my home life was rocky I slammed into the office sulking my way through the day.


When things were going well, I planned world domination…or at least my next step up the career ladder.


When things weren’t going so well it often felt like THE END.


But I kinda loved it. Know what I mean?


Even when running my own business I veered from flying high to crawling across a gravel floor without any clothes on. But still the ‘buzz’ kept me going. The fear of failure like an adrenaline shot that pushed me forward.


My career was flying.


I however was a mess.


I felt exhausted, wrecked, had no patience for anyone or anything, I cried, I drank too much, I thought I was dying (no seriously I had scans, blood tests and doctor on speed dial). I just couldn’t understand what was wrong with me


Why did I feel soooo rubbish when everything was going so well?


Now not being one to lie down and take my burnout (read acute stress and depression – nice eh?) I started to study lots of stuff. I wanted to know why my brain had finally given up on me.


  • I became qualified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming so I could ‘positive language’ my way out of the dark.
  • I found a way to bounce back with Mindfulness.
  • I learned hypnosis so I could get deep in my head and sort out the crud.
  • I worked out my values so I knew how what I was all about
  • I became a Time Line Therapist so I could get rid of all the angst.
  • I smashed Future Projection so I could focus on what was important


I read the Secret and asked the universe for money (okay this may be going a step too far but hey I was willing to try anything 😊)

So here I am, totally not stressed EVER and totally living my best life....

....okay so not exactly


I still get stressed out, life still throws crap my way, I am often too busy and my kids and husband get on my nerves on a regular basis….AND I still have to ride those highs and lows of my working world.


  • I am most definitely the most RESILIENT I have EVER been!
  • I ride the highs and lows with a sense of BRING IT ON!
  • I genuinely feel the most STABLE and happy I have ever felt.
  • I know how to GET BACK UP after a knock without taking the whole office or my family out with me.
  • I can leave my work at the desk and leave my home on the sofa.
  • I know when to put the cork back in the wine bottle (okay that’s a lie, I still cant do this)


My only regret is that I didn’t know this stuff sooner.
